Some of Liz’s favorite dishes are traditional Jewish comfort food. She developed this kugel recipe for her beloved Jewish deli and Israeli street food cafe, Paulie’s Pickling. It’s really good!

Ingredients
- 1 lb egg noodles
- 8 eggs
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 lb butter
- 1 lb cottage cheese
- 1 lb sour cream
Instructions
- Place egg noodles in lightly salted boiling water and cook until just done. Do not overcook. Strain and return to pot.
- While noodles are cooking, combine next 6 ingredients and set aside.
- Add butter to pot of warm noodles and gently mix until butter is melted.
- Add cottage cheese and sour cream and mix until combined. (Eat some of this now. It’s delicious!)
- Add egg mixture to pot and mix to evenly distribute all ingredients.
- Pour into a WELL-SPRAYED casserole and bake for 1 hour at 350. (If it starts to get too brown, cover with foil.)
- Let set before trying to slice!
Enjoy!
